Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name of Winona Laura Hoowitz, birthed within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was editor and author, as were Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's parents also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to be Jewish. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder as well as her entire family relocated to California's Mendocino County at the age of seven. Ryder was seven. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder, who loved reading aged 12 became a book worm because Ryder was not able to access television. Ryder started taking acting classes at American Conservatory Theatre when she was 12 years old. In 1986 she was offered her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas she was only 15 years old. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her teenage years. Her acting career, she hoped, would help her. Unfortunately, that did not take place. But that didn't stop her pursuing dreams. Her biggest break occurred in the year 1988, when Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder had a successful role in several films. In 1993, Ryder was nominated two times for Academy Awards.
